What's In My Beach Bag

One year ago Syd and I left the shores of San Clemente for the Rocky Mountains. By and large, it has been a great decision for our family and business. Utah is known for great hiking, biking and skiing. Unfortunately, one thing it's not known for are sandy beaches! That's why when we get a client in The Golden State, we make sure to balance out our workdays with some good old fashioned fun in the sun. Just last week we extended a work trip to soak in that salty air for a few days. Relaxing as they may be, even beach trips need a little preparation. Here's a look inside my beach bag and what I won't leave the house without:

The Picnic Necessities

One of our very favorite family activities is going on picnics - whether it's in our backyard, in the canyon or at the park, we love to let Wren run around wild and eat without a lot of cleanup. I must first clarify that most of our picnic outings are nothing fancy (they usually involve Chick-fil-a nuggets and a Diet Coke), but sometimes it's just really great to take dinner up a notch! Here are a few of our favorite things:

Favorite Housewarming Gifts

I can speak from experience and say that moving to a new place is HARD. If you have the opportunity to put a smile on your face and welcome someone to the neighborhood (or congratulate a friend on their new home), you should! And let's be honest, a little gift is always a welcome gesture.

Our friends, Ashly and Karyn (we've known them from when we lived in San Clemente), just started Loom Goods - a shop filled with gorgeous pillows and accessories. We've teamed up with them to share our favorite housewarming gifts!

Winter blues

Our E-Design service is one of my favorite parts of the job - we get to work with clients all over the country and help them create a design plan that they can implement at their own pace. However, this also means I rarely get to see pictures of the finished spaces! I was so excited when one of our sweet clients from Texas sent me pictures of her gorgeous living room.

Raspberry Coconut Macaroons

Sometimes I need to take a break from design and have a snack. When you need a treat, my friend Kristina from Buttercup Houston is the right person to go to. We grew up together in Texas and even though we are miles apart now,  we still keep in touch. She has a Texas accent, heart of gold and a kitchen filled with things like homemade vanilla and Raspberry Coconut Macaroons. She is sharing the prettiest and most delicious recipe today:
