Our rug sale lives on! Rug shopping is fun, but it isn’t always easy. We rounded up our most asked questions for your shopping security, to ensure you pick out the right rug for your space. And at 20% off, we might add!
TIP #1 - SECURE, BUT SPACIOUS
This tip is applicable to any space! Keep the rug 12-36 inches away from the wall. This ensures that the space feels covered and anchored.
TIP #2- STAY GROUNDED
Here’s another versatile tip, keep two legs of furniture on a rug. You can go with four for a formal look, but typically we place two feet on the rug. That placement helps the rug feel like a solid foundation for your floor plan.
TIP #3- THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF RUNNING
Everyone has questions about the kitchen runner length! Kitchen runners are amazing because they bring warmth to the cold floor you’re often walking barefoot on. Try an indoor/outdoor runner if you’re concerned about durability, or vintage if you really want to charm. We love to use pattern too! The kitchen runner length should run just a little shorter than the island, not passing the island or cabinets!
The same tips apply in the bathroom! A rug in front of the vanity makes the space feel so luxurious, which is perfect for a master space.
TIP #4- DEFINE YOUR MASTER BEDROOM
Bedroom Placement — Over and over again, you'll hear us say that you want the rug to anchor the space. That's still true in the bedroom. It defines the area with the right placement. Your rug should be in front of the nightstands, but not under. Try not to extend the length of them and give space to breathe on each side.
-Make sure your rug doesn’t extend the nightstands.
-Make sure the rug has at least 8” of space on the sides of the bed.
-Typical rug size for a Queen bed is 8x10.
-Leave at least 8” of space from the nightstands to the beginning of the rug.
-Make sure the rug extends the bed by at least 1 foot.
-Typical rug size for a King bed is 9x12.
#5- DINE IN STYLE & COMFORT
We tend to opt for a rug under a dining table when the space is more formal, but not stuffy. It elevates the design while providing comfort. Make sure the dining chairs are all on the rug around the entire table, you know the drill!
Here’s our tips:
-Leave at least 8” of space out on each side.
-Leave at least 1 foot of floor around the perimeter of the room
-Typical sizes are 6x9, 8x10, and 9x12.
