Tour the fantasy kitchen™
There are so many directions we could have gone with a Fantasy Kitchen™. After settling on a concept, we used two words to act as our guide: Warm + Modern. We wanted it to have a cool, yet comfortable, vibe that was contemporary.
We designed the kitchen with a large 60” range and the custom range hood! This was something that was a must for the Fantasy Kitchen. Together, they act as a beautiful focal point! We like mixing our metals to add visual interest, so we used large-scale pendants and brass hardware!
High-contrast is a simple look to achieve, but it could come across as very stark. We softened the space by incorporating warmer features like wood and brass.
The spice rack next to the range and stove top was a must-have request from celebrity chef, Scott Contant!!! He'd know better than us the value of having seasonings close by!
To lighten the feel of the dark lower cabinets, we used white uppers. We broke up the contrast with white subway tile with dark grout that creates a pretty grid pattern that helps carry the contrast look.
The island is one of my favorite things! For starters, it’s 11’8” long. It features a butcher block end, great open shelving on the front and is the home to a lot of really incredible appliances (pebble ice maker, duh!) I also love the counter stools we used here because they bring in much need warmth.
So many things make this a fantasy kitchen! From the pizza oven and multiple, not-so-typical appliances like a pebble ice machine (my personal dream), to the massive island, this kitchen brings so much to the table!
The custom steel + wood shelving definitely adds a pretty, unexpected element. We also love the industrial faucet to go with the modern feel of the kitchen. The sconces over the kitchen window add great lighting and visual interest as well.
The herringbone floor is stunning! We kept it in it’s raw finish to lighten up the dark lower cabinets and it really added a lot of character to the space.
The ladder is definitely a standout point in this space! We also loved the patterned floor tile that brought the pantry up to the next level. It also has a lot of working space and a wood shelf for displaying pretty dishware.
(Above) We love the classic look of the Rotunda Pendant above the window!
