Last week we shared the video of our Claybourne project and it was a big hit. Now it's time to soak in all the details through the photos! I was going to do it all in one post, but Lindsay took so many great photos that I'll be sharing the living room today and the office tomorrow.
The living room is light and fresh - exactly how I feel they should be. I love to make other spots in a home more dramatic if the client is up for it (offices, bedrooms, powder baths, etc.) but people tend to gather and congregate in the brighter rooms so we try to always make them feel that way.
The home was designed by Fox Group Construction and there are gorgeous floor-to-ceiling mouldings everywhere. We debated for awhile about whether or not to hang artwork and ultimately decided not to because our budget was getting close and the mouldings can hold their own.
Our client has young boys and needed durable furniture. We kept the two big pieces very functional and then had a little fun with the chair in the corner. The pillows have color and pattern without it being overkill. I love that how the modern sofa and pillows play off of the more traditional bones of the house. The dark kitchen cabinets are so striking against the selections in the living room:
