One of the greatest things about having an awesome vacation home is being able to accommodate lots of friends and family! So far, we've toured the great room/kitchen/dining, master suite/office/mudroom/powder, kids' rooms, and shared a video of the whole project here. Today we'll be showing off the guest wing...and let me tell you, those are some very lucky guests:
This long hallway of floor to ceiling windows is stunning. We had custom frames/mattes made and filled them with black and white family photos. I love how it turned out and fully intend to use this idea in other projects.
This room has a really cool vibe. The print above the bed is a photograph from the property that we commissioned a designer friend of ours to do the text overlay. A guest room is the perfect spot to get away with a platform bed and side tables with no drawers, so we just went for it:
Both guest rooms have identical bathrooms. The light is making the walls appear a tad lighter than they are in person (they're "Black Magic" by Benjamin Moore). This bathroom follows the high contrast theme from the rest of the house but adds just a tad bit of glamour with the lucite and marble vanity. I'm loving the look of square subway tiles these days.
We wanted this room to feel a little softer, so we layered white linen bedding with wool menswear fabrics like herringbone and tweed. The gold accents keep things from feeling too cold.
There is also a powder bathroom off this hallway for the sitting room/activity area that we'll be sharing soon. The bathroom was so long that we needed a way to break it up - open shelves were the perfect solution. We designed and had the concrete sink custom made through the builder. I'm kind of obsessed with how the rustic sink pairs with the pretty cement tiles and brass fixtures.
