our favorite Fireplace Trends

If there's one thing that's consistent throughout different style of homes, it's fireplaces. It's almost always an element in our projects and is a great focal point for any space. We've pulled together a few (ok, a lot) of fireplace styles we've been digging lately!

PLANKING: Planking on a fireplace is a great way to give a clean, updated look and there are so many options for materials types. Natural wood, paint grade wood, tile, or even concrete, the possibilities are endless!

PATTERNED MOSAIC SURROUNDS: A great way to give your more traditional fireplace mantel a little interest is to do a patterned mosaic surround. Make a big statement with a dark tile or add subtle interest with a white or Carrara Marble tile!

SMOOTH: We love all the smooth fireplaces we're seeing lately! It's no fuss, clean and makes a simple, but big statement. Keep it monochromatic or pair it with a natural element like raw wood or concrete.

BRICK: Brick is a classic material and we love incorporating it into our transitional designs! It adds interesting texture and depth to a fireplace. Paint it white if there's a large amount or keep it in it's raw form as an accent!

STEEL: Steel isn't the easiest material to work with, but if you're wanting a masculine modern feel, it can really take your fireplace to the next level. In our Modern Mountain project our client wanted just that. It was a challenge, but we love the end result!

PRECAST: Precast fireplaces have been around forever, but we're loving the reappearance in more transitional spaces! Play with the shape a little.
