We’re decking the halls and getting ready for the holidays at the McGee household! Now that we’ve covered the holiday dining table, kitchen, and mantel, it’s time to decorate the tree! Decorating the tree as a family is our favorite Christmas tradition, and this year we wanted to share our process with you.
After the lights are arranged on the tree, the fun begins! We start by embellishing our tree with glitter branches. Every year we use a different ribbon and this year we chose torn up strips of fabric to add a little color and pattern.
Next, we choose ornaments that set the color palette. This year we used sparkle ornaments for some color and scattered them throughout the tree. After, we'll mix in the metallic ornaments. We use metallics to breakup color and add some shine. We love the details in our mirrored star ornaments, pearl ornaments, and golden geometric ornaments. They're heirloom quality, which we like since we reuse ornaments for years to come!
We’ve got littles who love to grab everything in sight! We like to put the breakable ornaments out of reach at the top of the tree, and the ones they can play with at the bottom. Our woodland embroidered wool ornaments are whimsical and kid friendly, perfect for your mini decorator.
Don’t forget to put the star on top!
