I’ve saved the most glamorous room in this home for last, but it certainly didn’t start out that way. As you can see below, it was very dark before my client moved in:
And drumrolllllllll, here is the after!
We painted the walls in Benjamin Moore’s “Balboa Mist” and the ceiling and fireplace in Dunn Edwards “Swiss Coffee”. We also ripped out the carpet and continued the existing tile into the room. My client fell in love with the Michelle Armas painting, so we used it as a jumping off point for the space.
The room’s layout is a bit odd and required a custom rug which can be extremely pricey, so we decided to use sisal and layer with a cowhide. We had the sofa, chair and drapes custom made. The lucite drapery rods were a splurge and sooo worth it – it’s those interesting details that make a room feel special.
I am a big fan of neutrals on large upholstered pieces and going bold on an accent chair. It only requires about 3 yards of fabric and packs a mighty punch!
