Feels like summer in here.

This lounge room has been a labor of love. And when you see the before, you’ll understand why. Remember this master bedroom before/after? Same house, same crazy paint jobs (done by the previous owners)…

Once we ripped out the carpet, sanded the stripes and retextured the walls, we had the beautiful blank slate we needed. This space is technically a formal living room, but we wanted to make it more fun than formal. It opens to a courtyard, fireplace and pool (with views to the ocean!) so we just ran with that bright and beachy vibe.

It all started with the Gray Malin photograph. I showed my client his work and they selected the one that that “spoke” to them. I have always wanted to design a space with four chairs in a circle and just knew that this was the right fit. A seagrass rug and custom white slipcovered chairs were an easy choice. The drapes are custom with a Lilly Pulitzer print and the pillows are Quadrille. The hardware is one of my favorite elements in the room – and they are from Etsy! I love how the lucite hardware ties in with the custom plexiglass frame for the art. We purchased the chests from here  and then had them whitewashed. The lamps are from Furbish Studio, coffee table is vintage, mirror is Pottery Barnvase is West Elm, marble game is Crate and Barrel, canisters on mantel are from Alice Lane Home in Utah, and the book and blue herringbone box are from Anthropologie.

And for the record, here is the before…

With all of the custom pieces, this room took months and months and months to pull together, but in the end it was all worth it! xo-S
