Assistant Store Manager

Location: Costa Mesa, CA store

Description: This position should have a good grasp on the Studio McGee aesthetic as well as the McGee & Co product.  In this retail environment, you are the face of Studio McGee – creative and obsessed with design like we are!  You must have the ability to follow merchandising direction from the Salt Lake office/Director of Visual Merchandising. You will be responsible for keeping inventory in stock, while presenting it in a beautiful and clean fashion.  Finally, providing incredible customer service in the Studio McGee way is what we do!

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, creating a connection from the community to the Studio McGee brand

  • Lead by example on the sales floor while providing motivational coaching and feedback to associates on wins and ways to improve

  • Self driven in own career development and product education, contributing knowledge and ideas to store manager

  • Assist in recruiting, hiring and retaining top talent

  • Effectively perform operating procedures such as opening and closing the store, cash management, inventory counts, among other office items

  • Maintain the Studio McGee aesthetic throughout the space to include signage, lighting and general upkeep

  • Assume managerial duties in the absence of store manager

What We Need:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience preferred

  • 2-3 years of retail experience with managerial and merchandising background

  • A positive, happy individual who will contribute to the team – no egos here, please!

  • Effective communicator with strong organizational and leadership skills

  • Open availability and flexibility to meet the needs of the business
