I started this collection the same way I start every textile line - very late at our kitchen table with a notebook and some watercolors. We scan all of my doodles and play with shape, color, and pattern (repeating this process several times). Then Syd and I go in about 20 different directions until something seems to click. Once we have some semblance of a collection forming, we print them on legal paper in all different sizes to determine scale and see how they all work together. THEN we send them off for test prints on fabric. We always test several different colors because they always feel different in real life than on the Pantone swatch.
