Today begins the tour of (hands down) one of my very favorite projects. It mixes styles and feels happy, cozy, fresh and layered. I could go on and on...
We became quick friends with this couple through the process and their home is as warm and stylish as they are. It is a 1950s Cape Cod style home in one of the best neighborhoods in Salt Lake - it had been through several remodels and updates, but it was time for a major overhaul. We're starting with the great room and powder bath and will be sharing new rooms each day this week!
But first, here is a shot of the exterior for reference. This is after several big adjustments were made (which we'll show before/afters of later this week):
And here is the great room/powder bathroom before:
The great room stayed in the same place, but received new tongue and groove ceiling, wood floors, trim, French doors and paint. The layering of furniture in this room is everything. I'm head over heels for the buffalo check chairs paired with the leather sofa (and everything else in this space).
The powder bath ended up in the old kitchen and the kitchen shifted over. In a home with all white walls, we decided to have some fun and go BIG in this tiny space. The wallpaper, custom floating marble sink, and gold fixtures are an unstoppable combination. I can't wait to share the rest of this home tour!!!
