Lynwood Remodel: Mudroom and Exterior

It's the last day of our Lynwood Remodel tour - I hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have! I think the thing I love most about this home is that it just feels happy - and regardless of style, isn't that what home should be about?

Today we are wrapping things up with the mudroom and the exterior. In Utah, having a mudroom is HUGE - there are lots of slushy boots and coats to hold in the winter. And in the summertime, the mudroom serves as a great place for backpacks and outdoor gear. 

This space was originally a breezeway that wasn't insulated, but it did have a cute beadboard ceiling! With Steve Tiek, we created a space that is super durable and happens to look great too. We paired traditional bluestone floors and board and batten walls with modern hooks for a classic-cool look.

Hooks | Bench | Light

The exterior was already really cute, but just needed a little updating. There is now a direct path through the yard, updated porch, glossy black front door, fresh paint and trim! Here is what it looked like before:
