It’s just plain pretty.

Some people want beach-y,  others want modern, and some want an eclectic mashup of it all. But this client, well, they wanted pretty. Although it changes (almost daily), pretty is generally my favorite style – clean and classic with texture, hints of color and touches of glam. My client’s formal living room was a beautiful blank slate with dark hardwood flooring, Dunn Edwards “Ash Gray” paint, wainscoting and all that natural light streaming through the bay window. We kept all the main pieces neutral and added color through pillows and accessories.

Before showing all the good stuff, I have to tell you about the sofa. In order to squeeze out every inch of the budget, we decided to try You really can’t beat their price and free shipping/returns policy. However, it was not in stock and kept getting backordered, so we had to wait for what seemed like FOREVER to get it in the room. In the end, the wait was worth it because it allowed us to splurge on a few other items.

For example, that dreamy sunset photograph by Thom Filicia…
